Court Is Back In Session! Season 3 Of The 'Night Court' Reboot Is On Its Way
NBC has renewed the 'Night Court' reboot for a third season
Get ready for more courtroom antics! NBC has announced that the 'Night Court' reboot has been renewed for a third season. The series, which premiered in 2023, is a continuation of the original sitcom that ran from 1984 to 1992. The reboot stars John Larroquette reprising his role as prosecutor Dan Fielding, alongside Melissa Rauch as Judge Abby Stone, the daughter of the original series' Judge Harry Stone.
"We are so excited to bring back 'Night Court' for a third season," said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Programming for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "This show has found a special place in the hearts of our audience, and we can't wait to see what Dan Fielding and the rest of the gang get up to next."
What to expect in Season 3
Details about Season 3 of 'Night Court' are still under wraps, but we can expect more of the same zany courtroom hijinks that made the original series so popular. The show will continue to follow the misadventures of Judge Abby Stone and her eccentric staff, including prosecutor Dan Fielding, public defender Neil (Kapil Talwalkar), bailiff Gurgs (Lacretta), and court reporter Donna (India de Beaufort).
In addition to the returning cast, Season 3 will also feature some new faces. According to Deadline, comedian and actor Pete Holmes will join the cast as a new character named Mark, a bailiff who is "overzealous and eager to please."
When will Season 3 premiere?
NBC has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 3 of 'Night Court', but it is expected to return sometime in the fall of 2024. The first two seasons of the show premiered in January, so it is possible that Season 3 will follow suit.
In the meantime, fans can catch up on the first two seasons of 'Night Court' on Peacock.
