A Clay County lottery player is $1 million richer after winning the Missouri Lottery's Powerball drawing on Monday night. The winning ticket was sold at the QuikTrip located at 6251 N. Oak Trafficway in North Kansas City.
The lucky player matched all five white balls - 14, 20, 39, 65 and 67 - but missed the Powerball number of 12. Despite not hitting the jackpot, the player still won a $1 million prize.
The Missouri Lottery encourages all players to check their tickets, even if they don't think they've won. Prizes can be claimed up to 180 days after the drawing date.
The Powerball jackpot has been rolling over since November 19, 2022, and is now worth an estimated $1.35 billion. The next drawing will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
