A woman was killed by a fallen tree in Lynnwood during a wind storm that swept through the Seattle area on Monday, November 28. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Lynnwood resident Susannah C. Brown, was walking in the 19200 block of 76th Avenue West when she was struck by the tree.

According to Lynnwood Police, the wind storm caused widespread damage across the city, with downed trees, power lines, and debris blocking roads. The National Weather Service (NWS) reported wind gusts of up to 60 mph during the storm.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. She is the first person reported killed in the Seattle area due to the wind storm. The NWS has issued a wind advisory for the Puget Sound region through Tuesday, November 29. Residents are urged to stay indoors and avoid any unnecessary travel.
