When Witkowski Konin was relegated from the Polish Volleyball League in 2021, it marked a low point for a club with a rich history. Undeterred, the club's new management team, led by President Tomasz Wisniewski, embarked on an ambitious rebuilding project. They appointed experienced coach Dominik Zabrocki and recruited a talented squad featuring several promising young players and seasoned veterans.

In the 2021-22 season, Konin dominated the Polish First League, winning promotion back to the top tier with a perfect record. Zabrocki's tactical acumen and the team's cohesion proved too much for their opponents.
