Wales 'showed guts and determination' in Turkey draw - Darlow
Goalkeeper forced into late save to salvage draw in Turkey after Connor Roberts opener
Wales goalkeeper Adam Darlow was forced into a late save to salvage a 1-1 draw in Turkey on Wednesday as Rob Page's side extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
Connor Roberts had given Wales the lead just before the hour mark, tapping home from close range after Neco Williams' cross had caused problems in the Turkish defence.
But Turkey equalised with 13 minutes remaining through Halil Dervisoglu, who tapped home after Darlow had saved Burak Yilmaz's initial effort.
'We showed guts and determination' - Darlow
Darlow, who was making his second appearance for Wales, was pleased with his side's performance, particularly in the second half.
"I thought we showed guts and determination to come back from behind," he said.
"We had a bit of a slow start in the first half, but we came out in the second half and played much better."
"We created a lot of chances and could have won the game, but overall I'm happy with the point."
Page pleased with Wales' progress
Page was also pleased with his side's performance, and believes they are making progress.
"I thought we were excellent in the second half," he said.
"We created a lot of chances and could have won the game." "But overall, I'm pleased with the point and the progress we're making."
What next for Wales?
Wales will now face the Czech Republic in a friendly on Tuesday, before their Nations League campaign begins in June.
