Spurs international watch: Absolutely insane drama for midfielder
Romero red card and Argentina struggles
Cristian Romero picked up a red card as Argentina lost 2-1 to Saudi Arabia in their opening group game at the World Cup. The Tottenham defender was sent off in the 87th minute for a second bookable offence, having been cautioned earlier in the game for a foul on Saleh Al-Shehri.
Argentina had taken an early lead through Lionel Messi's penalty, but Saudi Arabia came back to win the game with two goals in the second half from Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al-Dawsari.
The defeat is a major setback for Argentina, who are now bottom of Group C and face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages.
