SpaceX Rocket Launch Doubleheader Near NASA, Kennedy Space Center: What Time is Liftoff?

SpaceX is targeting this week for a doubleheader launch of two Falcon 9 rockets from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The first launch is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, at 5:55 p.m. EDT, and the second launch is scheduled for Thursday, June 30, at 12:25 p.m. EDT.

The first launch will send a Dragon cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS). The Dragon will be carrying over 2,500 pounds of supplies and experiments to the station. The second launch will send a communications satellite called SES-17 to orbit. SES-17 will provide television and broadband services to North America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Both launches will be conducted from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. Launch Complex 39A is the same launch pad that was used for the Apollo 11 mission to the moon in 1969. The Falcon 9 rockets will use their reusable first stages to land back at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station after liftoff.
