Sam Hartman's New Team Announced
Quarterback Finds a New Home
After much speculation, Sam Hartman has finally signed with a new team. The former Wake Forest quarterback will be joining the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the 2023 season, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN.
Hartman entered the transfer portal in December after announcing he was leaving Wake Forest. He was one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the portal, due to his success at Wake Forest and his remaining eligibility.
Hartman was a three-year starter for the Demon Deacons, throwing for over 10,000 yards and 78 touchdowns. He led Wake Forest to their first ACC Championship Game appearance in program history in 2021.
Notre Dame will be looking for him to replace Drew Pyne, who transferred to Arizona State.
