News | Cain International confirms mega B&M letting at Ellesmere Port
Property giant inks £5m letting deal with discount retailer
International property investment and development company Cain International has confirmed a mega letting deal with discount retailer, B&M, at a £100m logistics park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
The deal, which was brokered by leading property agents Colliers and B8 Real Estate, will see B&M take occupation of a 72,702 sq ft unit at the 40-acre site, marking a major investment for the company in the North West.
New jobs created
Once operational, the new store is expected to create up to 60 jobs for the Ellesmere Port area, further boosting the local economy.
The letting to B&M is the latest in a series of successful deals at Cain International’s flagship logistics park, which is now 80% let, with just two units remaining.
Cain International acquired the site in 2017 and has since invested heavily in transforming it into a state-of-the-art logistics hub.
The park benefits from excellent transport links, being situated directly adjacent to Junction 7 of the M56 motorway and close to the Port of Liverpool.
Other occupiers at the site include global logistics provider CEVA Logistics and leading automotive parts supplier, IAC Group.
Commenting on the letting, Tony O’Keefe, Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Cain International, said:
“We are delighted to welcome B&M to our Ellesmere Port logistics park. This letting is a testament to the quality of the development and its strategic location.”
He added:
“We have worked closely with our agents to secure this deal and we are confident that B&M will be a successful addition to the park.”
Steve Wood, Property Director at B&M, said:
“We are pleased to have secured this new unit at Ellesmere Port. The site is a great fit for our business and we look forward to opening our doors to customers in the near future.”
The letting to B&M follows the recent announcement that Cain International has secured planning consent for a further 1 million sq ft of logistics space at the park.
This expansion will see the park grow to over 1.5 million sq ft, making it one of the largest logistics hubs in the North West.
