NAPALM DEATH and MELVINS Announce Co-Headlining Spring U.S. Tour
Grindcore Legends Napalm Death and Sludge Metal Pioneers Melvins Team Up for Extensive North American Trek
Two of the most influential and enduring bands in extreme music, Napalm Death and Melvins, have announced a co-headlining spring U.S. tour. The 24-date trek will kick off on March 29th in San Francisco, CA, and wrap up on May 7th in Philadelphia, PA. Support on all dates will come from sludge metal trio Thou.
NAPALM DEATH
Formed in 1981, Napalm Death are widely regarded as one of the pioneers of grindcore, a subgenre of extreme metal characterized by its fast tempos, short songs, and politically charged lyrics. Over the course of their four-decade career, the band has released 16 studio albums, including such classics as Scum (1987), Harmony Corruption (1990), and Utopia Banished (1992). Napalm Death are known for their intense live performances, which often feature frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway's trademark stage dives and crowd surfing.
MELVINS
Formed in 1983, Melvins are one of the most influential bands in sludge metal, a subgenre of heavy metal characterized by its slow tempos, heavy riffs, and distorted vocals. Over the course of their four-decade career, the band has released 25 studio albums, including such classics as Bullhead (1991), Houdini (1993), and Stoner Witch (1994). Melvins are known for their experimental approach to music, which has seen them incorporate elements of punk, hardcore, and even psychedelia into their sound.
