Miami's Defense Continues to Shine
The Miami RedHawks football team continued their impressive winning streak with a dominant 34-21 victory over the Northern Illinois Huskies on Tuesday night. The victory marks the RedHawks' sixth consecutive win and improves their record to 6-2 on the season. The Huskies fall to 4-4 with the loss.
The RedHawks defense was once again the star of the show, holding the Huskies to just 339 yards of total offense and forcing three turnovers. Miami also held NIU to just 3.6 yards per carry on the ground.
RedHawks Offense Breaks Out in Second Half
After a slow start on offense, the RedHawks came alive in the second half, scoring 24 unanswered points to take control of the game. Running back Matt Murphy led the way for Miami with 122 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Quarterback Brett Gabbert also had a solid performance, completing 17 of 26 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown.
Miami Extends Winning Streak to Six Games
With the victory, the RedHawks have now won six straight games and are in a good position to make a run at the MAC Championship Game. Miami will return to action next Tuesday night when they travel to face the Buffalo Bulls.
