Max Christie Believes He Benefitted From Being Out Of Lakers Rotation
Lakers Rookie Gaining Valuable Experience
Los Angeles Lakers rookie Max Christie has made the most of his limited playing time this season, averaging 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 10.7 minutes per game. Despite not being a regular part of the rotation, Christie believes that he has benefitted from being out of the spotlight.
"It's been good for me to be able to sit back and watch," Christie said. "I've been able to learn from the older guys and see how they approach the game. I've also been able to work on my game and get better."
Christie was one of the Lakers' most impressive players in the preseason, but he has struggled to find consistent minutes during the regular season. However, he has remained positive and has continued to work hard.
Enjoying Lakers Culture
"I'm just trying to stay ready," Christie said. "I know that my time will come. I'm just trying to be a good teammate and help the team win in any way that I can."
Christie's attitude has impressed the Lakers' coaching staff. Head coach Darvin Ham has said that he is "a pleasure to coach" and that he has a "bright future" in the NBA.
