Late Zhang winner reignites China's World Cup dream, Saudis hold Australia
China's World Cup dream was reignited on Thursday as they came from behind to beat Oman 2-0, with Zhang Yuning scoring a late winner.
The Saudis, meanwhile, held Australia to a 1-1 draw in Sydney.
China had a poor start to their campaign, losing their first two games. But they have now won two in a row, and they are now just three points behind Oman in third place in Group B.
Zhang's goal came in the 81st minute, and it was his first for China in over two years.
The Saudis, meanwhile, were unlucky not to beat Australia. They took the lead through Salem Al-Dawsari in the 53rd minute, but Australia equalized through Jackson Irvine in the 72nd minute.
The draw leaves Australia in second place in Group B, one point ahead of the Saudis.
