Mexico stunned in home loss

Honduras shocked Mexico 3-2 in their CONCACAF Nations League Group A match on Tuesday, with Elis getting the winner 3 minutes in to stoppage time after Jimenez had equalized in the 79th minute. Edwin Rodriguez and Deiby Flores also scored for Honduras who played much of the second half with 10 men after Marcelo Pereira's red card.

Raul Jimenez had given Mexico an early lead in the 10th minute but Honduras levelled through Edwin Rodriguez 12 minutes later. Deiby Flores gave the visitors, who are ranked 80th in the world, a 2-1 lead just after the hour.

Mexico brought on Hirving Lozano and Jimenez after the break and looked to have salvaged a draw when Jimenez tapped in from close range 11 minutes from time, but Elis broke Mexican hearts at the death.

Canada survive Jamaica scare

Canada had to dig deep to beat Jamaica 2-1 in their Nations League opener on Tuesday with Cyle Larin's second-half penalty proving the difference.

Junior Flemmings gave Jamaica a shock early lead, but Jonathan Osorio levelled from the spot before the break. Larin won and converted the decisive spot-kick just before the hour.

"Canada dominated possession but struggled to break down Jamaica's defense in the first half. The Reggae Boyz defended resolutely and threatened on the break, with Flemmings giving them a deserved lead after 14 minutes when he fired home a loose ball.
