Memphis Grizzlies rookie center Zach Edey left Tuesday's 122-112 win over the New Orleans Pelicans with an ankle injury in the third quarter.

Edey, who was making his second NBA start, was injured while defending a drive by Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram. Edey limped off the court and did not return.

The Grizzlies did not immediately provide an update on Edey's condition.

The 7-foot-4, 285-pound Edey has been a bright spot for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per game.

The Grizzlies are already without starting center Steven Adams, who is out with a sprained MCL.

The Grizzlies will host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
