What is the Global Super League?
The Global Super League is a proposed international association football competition featuring 20 top European clubs. The competition was first announced in April 2021, and it is intended to replace the existing UEFA Champions League. The Global Super League was met with widespread criticism from football fans, players, and officials, and it was ultimately abandoned in May 2021.
Global Super League 2024
In June 2023, it was announced that the Global Super League would be revived in 2024. The new competition will feature 24 teams, including 18 of the clubs that were involved in the original proposal. The remaining six teams will be determined through a qualification process.
Schedule
The Global Super League 2024 will begin on August 24, 2024, and it will conclude on May 25, 2025. The competition will be played on a mid-week basis, with matches taking place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Venue
The Global Super League 2024 will be played at various stadiums around the world. The final will be played at the Wembley Stadium in London, England.
