Dwight Howard Pleads To OKC Thunder: “Your Boy Is Ready”

Following Chet Holmgren’s Injury, Dwight Howard Open To OKC Thunder Return

Former All-Star returned to the Lakers last season, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 60 games.

Howard, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, has averaged 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game over 18 seasons.

The Thunder, who were already without Holmgren, lost Isaiah Roby to a foot injury on Sunday.

OKC currently has Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Mike Muscala as their only traditional big men on the roster.

Howard, who is 36 years old, could provide the Thunder with some much-needed depth and experience.

"I'm ready to come back home," Howard said. "I've been working hard all summer, and I'm in the best shape of my life."

"I know I can still play at a high level, and I'm confident that I can help the Thunder win games."

The Thunder have not yet commented on Howard's interest in returning to the team.

However, it’s likely that the Thunder will at least consider bringing Howard in for a workout before making a decision.

Dwight Howard is a future Hall of Famer who could provide the OKC Thunder with some much-needed depth and experience.

While it remains to be seen if the Thunder will sign Howard, his interest in returning to OKC is a positive sign for the franchise.
