Bruins Close To Getting Blue Line Help With Return Of Injured Defenseman
Injured Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm set for season debut Wednesday against Flyers
Will be first game for Lindholm since suffering foot injury in preseason game September 25th
The Boston Bruins are expected to get a boost on the blue line for Wednesday’s game against the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.
Injured defenseman Hampus Lindholm is set to make his season debut after suffering a foot injury in a preseason game against the New Jersey Devils on September 25th.
The Bruins have gone 6-5-0 in Lindholm’s absence, but his return will provide a much-needed boost to their defense.
Lindholm was acquired by the Bruins in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in March and quickly became a key part of their top pairing with Charlie McAvoy.
In 23 games with the Bruins last season, Lindholm had four goals and 14 assists.
With Lindholm back in the lineup, the Bruins will have a much more experienced and physical presence on the blue line.
The 29-year-old is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Ducks and has represented Sweden in international competition.
His return will be a welcome addition to a Bruins team that has been struggling defensively at times this season.
