App State Hosts Queens in In-State Showdown
Mountaineers look to continue hot start against FCS foe
BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University football will host in-state FCS foe Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday, September 17th at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
App State enters the contest with a 2-0 record after a 40-16 victory at No. 16-ranked Marshall last weekend. The Mountaineers are averaging 515 yards of total offense per game, led by quarterback Chase Brice's 590 passing yards and six touchdowns.
Queens, meanwhile, is making the jump to the FBS level after a successful run in the FCS. The Royals went 10-1 in the 2021 season and won a share of the Big South Conference championship.
Saturday's game will be the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
